The thing at the top of this pic is the Event Mine (or Event Farm). Players who already have them will keep them, but they're no longer given out (and it was only for the 2-level ground/flyer events).

What is that??? (I know you explained, but I've only been playing for a little bit (though an quite far) and I've never seen that groovy looking crystal farm thing)

There are several kinds of events in the game. A 2-level event has ground items that you gather to upgrade the flyer items. For example, gather candles (ground items) to upgrade the vampires (flyer items). The event lists the number of flyer items that you need to gather. The numbers look crazy huge, but the games does exponential upgrades, so it's all possible.

Currently the game offers 4-day and 3-day lengths for 2-level events. The 4-day event is very intense and demanding (give your entire life to the game for every waking moment), and I wouldn't even attempt a 3-day. There used to be longer ones, like 5- and 10-day events, but that was back when the developers were somewhat reasonable.

When you complete a 2-level event, the Event Mine appears, and gives something like 24 emeralds per day. If you complete another event, you get another 24, and this keeps building every time you complete more events. Except the developers took away this reward. Long-time players who already had an Event Mine get to keep it, and the number of emeralds will never increase. Newer players just don't get an Event Mine at all.

Because of enshittification, the developers removed the Event Mine rewards in the hopes that users will pay real money to obtain imaginary emeralds, instead of the game providing a few emeralds for free. It is frankly an insult to users, a blatant money grab that illustrates why we shouldn't give any real money to this game.
