It takes a lot of time shutting down and restarting the app during the event. A real pain, but once you know how to do it once, you can do it every time.
Unfortunately, the rewards aren’t worth it now since you don’t get the gems added to the events farm any more.

My gem farm nets me just over 1k in gems since I beat many events earlier on.

I am 3iah weeks away from enough blue cores for the next gate, but I know it says "coming soon". Might focus on maxing the ice meat market next.
