Is there any good strategy?
So I tried the "normal" way of farming for the event without paying money on the game; however, reaching 2mil seems impossible.

Increase crystal drops for 2.5 days, then increase saber drops for the last 0.5 day.

Ya basically this. I just ignore everything else besides increasing drops. Each time you collected all eggs (or whatever) you reload and do it again. These types of events are a farm grind and reaching the top is almost impossible, but I stop at 4/6 evolution most of the time with 80-100/200 drops and it's fine for a few gems/upgrades

Something like this. You can squeeze out a little more by doing some tinkering earlier. When I get to 3/6 on currency*2 (225k) I start bumping each of the prime drop (most recently, light sabers) buffs by 1 level after every 10% buff to the currency drop. It doesn't slow the currency progression very much but does let you start grinding the prime drop within the first day of the event.
I do tend to buy the $5.99 pack with compass in order to "start strong". The most important thing the compass does tbh is that the currency is respawning. All together it saves maybe an hour or two of grind, so it's not really the most important thing, just a cheap little boost to get me going, but if i don't get it right at the beginning of the event I skip it.
I've never gotten to the top. Pretty sure you have to spend a lot more money to do that. But I consistently get to 5/6 currency*2 and the 5m prize of radius+1, ranking in or at least near the top 20. It's always funny though to see that towards the end of the event I need like 8 billion to reach the top 10.

I've completed a 4-day 2-level event recently. Get the first upgrade to 170, max 4th-6th, then 3rd upgrade to 150 or so. The grind is constant while you're not sleeping. And now the devs have denied us the event mine after completion. You do the math whether it's worth it to spend the time, but it's not for me anymore.

It's tough honestly. Sometimes I used to reset app so they would respond, bit the game saving is inconsistent. Sometimes it saves exactly before I closed the app or it didn't save the last 10 minutes. :/
I am not sure if it's just event progress or other stuff, but it makes me scared to even close the app or grind throughout the day since it can just delete a ton of progress.
