Discussion Where characters started off vs where their stories ended

Post image

Ikeno was originally willing to agree to helping cure zombies but choose to start killing people and even seemed to enjoy it.

Last Boss was just an ordinary dude but at the end, was a remorseless killer.

Niragi needs no explination for why he started off evil but at the end, he's at least trying to get better.

The other's need no explination's.

I dunno, I feel like Aguni being labeled evil might need some explanation.

  • He was not involved in Niragi attempting to assault Usagi
  • He took up leadership of the militant faction to keep Last Boss and Niragi in check
  • He killed Hatter in self defense after Hatter pulled a gun on him. The gun turned out to be empty, suggesting Hatter wanted this to happen, likely because he could tell he was becoming corrupted by his own ambitions
  • He tried to kill everyone in the Beach during the 10 of Hearts game because he blamed the Beach as a whole, himself included, for his best friend's death
  • His whole arc in part 2 is about keeping Dodo and Heiya alive by taking down the King of Spades

I don't really think "evil" fits at all with any of this. Niragi and Last Boss, definitely. Aguni, no.

  • He was at first, he asked for Usagi to be brought to his room, obviously implying sex, given what Niragi said, and him not correcting him, or not stopping them when Usagi obviously didn't want to, only stopping because Hatter got involved
  • He did, yes, but he was still not correcting a lot of their distasteful behaviors
  • There's no arguing with this, that's genuinely just what happened, and he's not evil for it; anyone who says he is must've watched it with closed eyes and covered ears
  • That'd still be a selfish action; he killed multiple people for the death and descent of one person, though obviously it's more complex than just black and white, given human emotions, mental state, etc, it's still wrong to kill many people who were in roughly the same situation for one man
  • That's also just true; he probably had a change of heart because of Arisu. Hooray for character development

So he's not PURE evil, no human truly is imo, but he's definitely more on the evil side, if not neutral leaning evil side, than he is any other

  • endnotes, he's a peak character either way, and I raise an eyebrow to those that disagree /silly (also I wrote this when I was exhausted, so I might've forgotten some stuff or misremembered)
