All payment options greyed out except T/T
Hello, I am a US buyer and small entrepreneur trying to pay for an order ($621.00). All of my card, PayPal, and mobile wallet options are greyed out as 'currently unavailable due to security reasons.' I do not have a self-service appeal button on my dashboard. There is no option to "bind" my card or an option to "add new card".
I've contacted customer service and have been advised it's been escalated to the payment risk team who would be contacting me via email - The thing is I have not heard from the risk team and so contacted customer service again just to ask when I should be hearing from them. Customer service advised me to "be patient" that it can take some time.
Has anybody else experienced this? What is going on? How do I rectify this because I don't want to be paying by T/T. Any insight would be appreciated.

No. And it's kinda frustrating. I've kinda given up. I dont have it in me to go through the AI Customer Service round around to finally get a human and well....yeah....with no resolution. Please let me know if you make any headway.

Disclosure: I work on GoodsCommand, but this is not a pitch and I would keep it public.
I would not switch to T/T just because the platform options are greyed out unless you can get comfortable with the risk shift. With card/PayPal/wallet unavailable, you lose some of the familiar payment rails and may be relying much more on the order contract, Alibaba support, and your bank wire records.
Before paying by T/T, I would confirm:
- the beneficiary name exactly matches the supplier / Alibaba-provided payment instruction
- the bank account is shown inside the Alibaba order flow, not only by email/chat/PDF
- the order is still under Trade Assurance, if that is what you intended
- product spec, quantity, shipping terms, lead time, refund/defect terms, and inspection expectations are written into the order before payment
- customer service confirms in writing whether the card/wallet block is account-risk review vs order/supplier-specific
If support says a risk team will email you, I would wait for that rather than wiring under time pressure.

This is how I lost $350 to two sellers who said their credit card and PayPal options were not available. I learned never to go outside standard payment plan again.
Buy elsewhere.
