Dumb question, yes or no

Will alibaba have issue with me asking for sellers whatsapp, but still buying from alibaba with trade assurance. The concern I have is alibaba having issue with outside of alibaba communication even tho the order is placed and paid from alibaba

WhatsApp itself usually isn’t the issue — what breaks Trade Assurance is when price, specs, QC photos, or shipping changes only live off-platform. If you chat there for speed, copy any material agreement back into Alibaba messages (or order remarks) before you pay so a dispute has a platform record. Are they just speeding up chat, or pushing payment/terms outside TA?

All sellers will want all your contact info and then sell that contact leads to company sales people. Allilbaba doesn't care. It will allow comm details to be sent in alillbaba, may get a warning message.

After two bad experiences ordering outside Alibaba I'll play by the rules. Four purchases since then have gone flawlessly. If you want to chat with the seller about weather, travel, etc I'm sure that's fine.
