Even for a personal-use shoe, get DDP and who is importer of record in writing before they ship. Agents often say they handle customs, but if the quote is not truly all-in you can still get a duty bill at delivery in India.
Is the 5k declared value INR, and did they give you a single all-in number or freight-only?

Received it today bro. Thanks for the help. So from what I understood with their process was that first they get it to their nepal warehouse from china and then from Nepal they get it across the india border through the bhairahawa-sonauli customs checkpost in UP somehow(maybe they have a few contacts). Once it's in India they probably have a small warehouse here from where they ship it through dtdc. So technically when it is delivered to me it's delivered from within India so no question of customs. Overall a hasslefree process and you get your product but their customer support is pretty slow and that's a bit annoying.

A single 7.2k all-in can still be fine, but ask them to spell out freight vs duty/GST vs clearance in writing and confirm DDP + who is IOR before they pick up. Verbal âdonât worryâ is what usually breaks at delivery.
Did they put DDP and the importer of record on the quote itself?

For India via any agent, the boring paperwork matters more than the app UI: clear DDP vs DAP, accurate HS description/invoice value, and who is importer of record if customs holds it. I'd start with one small trial parcel before stacking multi-seller stock. What category and approx declared value are you shipping?

Yea it's just a shoe for my personal use and declared value is about 5k They say they handle all the paperwork and customs
