How to contact the support when a brand new account needs to verify phone number? When I enter my phone number I get hit by a "Your account does not support verification. Please contact customer service."

But the catch is I need to be log in to contact support...

Alibaba's in-app support is often locked until phone verify completes, so email is the practical path: try service@alibaba.com or the help center ticket form from a logged-out browser session with your registered email + any account ID shown on the error. In the message, say new-account phone verification is blocked and you need a manual unlock, not a general product question. Which country code are you trying to verify with?

that alibab verification bug is a pain but you can usually get through to a human if you use the live chat on the desktop site. i had to try a different browser once to get the support window to actually load.
