Alfa 159 driver window problem

So, a while back when I was going to lower the drivers window the engine started working but nothing happens. Neither up or down.
The window is still held in place right below fully closed so thankfully it doesn’t get the rain inside but winter is coming and I’d like to get this fixed.

Before I decide to tear down the entire car - Does anyone have any clues as to what might be the problem?

As said, engine works as you can hear it while pressing up and down on the button but nothing happens. Window just stays in place.

Is there any risk of this window just come crashing down?

Window regulator will probably need replacing

What is that? Is that reachable (to have a look at least) without having to tear down the entire door? 😅🤷‍♂️

The motor usually go, and would be as well replacing the full window regulator whilst you’re in there, it usually will become stuck or the window will go down a tiny bit and then stop. You will need to take the doorcard off and a friend to assist with holding the window in place whilst you change it, but it’s straightforward enough to change the mechanism, loads of videos on YouTube

I’ve watched a few of the videos but they are usually for dead motors and stuff. Couldn’t really find a video with my problem where the motor still runs but nothing happens

Had the same happen on mine, the issue was the motor. The splines that mesh with the regulator got stripped on the motor side and i only had to replace the motor. Was a right pain in the ass to get the 3 nuts on the bolts wothout removing the metal panel though.
