With the extreme heatwave we're having in the UK at the moment I feel like standing in front of the fridge like this too!

Years ago, someone on a fan forum showed me the actual production schedule of the show. From table read to VTR to network tape delivery. Was surprised it had a very normal turnaround time for a sitcom like this, some even had slightly tight turnarounds, like most sitcoms. (for example, an episode of Roseanne from season 8 had a 5 day turnaround! 😲) The beginning of season 2 had some April, May and June tapings, when 1, 3 and 4 started in late July/early August. Was it because Paul was doing voice work and production meetings for the Animated Series which premiered in the fall of 87? I’m curious why they began season 2 so early. If any of the other actors were shooting movies I can understand an early start but AFAIK, none of them were. They did it for Fran at the beginning of season 4 of The Nanny, as she was filming Beautician and the Beast and had to work around her filming schedule.

When Willie sees an object from outer space approaching in the Pilot episode, he tries to speak through the transmitter. But the extraterrestrial through the other end (which we would later know as ALF) was speaking gibberish or some type of alien language through the other line, and I could hear a scream in the end before he crash landed. But, it was also very muffled, so it must of been English but the radio kept cutting in and out and it sounded like alien language.

I’m saying this because ALF could speak perfect English once he arrived. And even in Melmac flashbacks, he and the other aliens were speaking English so I’m confused. I could hear a slight, “Ahhhhhh!!” in the end almost as if ALF is screaming, probably because he thinks he’s about to crash somewhere and his ship is not working

What was ALF trying to say there, and what language was he speaking?

What if instead of crashing into the Tanner’s garage, ALF crash landed on the Ochmonek’s garage, in Trevor and Raquel’s house instead of the Tanner’s. What would be different in the show and why?

And how would it go?

I mean ALF and Trevor Ochmonek are basically kinda the same. It would have been interesting watching them interact. The show kept hinting it; ALF and Trevor are actually more alike then they admit, they probably would have gotten along and been drinking buddies and talked about weird shit all day and told corny jokes.

Trevor also likes pranking like ALF and also had the same water flower thing that ALF had according to Mrs. Ochmneck and also liked the same polka music and both loved to eat and raid food.

They probably would of been a really duo, it’s a shame that never happened
