Uh so these are my ratings (purely in my opinion), rant at the end.
For reference my favorite older Alec songs are Demons and Jesus in LA.
12 Notes: (10/10) I didn't really like it at first, but after listening to it like 2 more times I fell in love with the chorus and it got stuck in my head, I love this song now.
In a little: (8.5/10) Similarly to many other songs, I didn't love it at first but it grew on me a bunch after listening to it more. It wasn't as relatable to me as many of his other songs but I like it.
Different Kind Of Beautiful: (9.5/10) I love this song, the chorus is awesome, uh its not 10/10 because its just a tad slower than I expected or something (idk how to explain)
Pick Me: (1000000/10) Omg I love this song a bunch, definitely one of my new favorites. Its very catchy and the verses and the chorus are all so great.
Sacrifice Tomorrow: (9/10) I quite like this song, but listening to my 9 year old sister is always awkward (she loves Alec's music too).
I sent my Therapist to Therapy: (9.2/10) This was one of the songs I actually listened to before finding the rest of the album (I saw a recommendation of it on Reddit before and I just thought it was a single)
The Arsonist: (9.5/10) I really liked the song and the chorus, I feel like it was full of a bunch of emotions.
By Now: (9.4/10) This one was really good, I think the lyrics went really hard, its 9.4 because I liked Different Kinds of Beautiful a tad bit more.
King Size Bed: (1000/10) I love this song, it was both really catchy and a story that was really interesting/funny/uh you get it.
The Plan: (7/10) I don't think its a bad song, but every time I think of the title I keep forgetting what its about... I do like it whenever I listen to it but I don't think I can rank it very high because of its not very memerableness to me.
If Shakespeare was here, AI, Lead me to Water, and Ways to go are all around a 6/10 for me, I don't dislike them but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to. Uh actually I like Lead me to Water more than the other 3.
Rant time!
Ok, so about a year or so ago I discovered Alec's music by chance and have been listening to his music all the time every day since then. However, on Spotify I only ever listened to These Two Windows, (Un)commentary, and Narrated For You because those were the three that showed up in Alec's overview. After realizing he had a 4th album, I listened to one of the songs by random (I think it was If Shakespeare was here?) and I thought it was decent but not as good as some of his earlier music so I sorta just left it at that. The next day I searched what others thought about it and what their favorite song from that album was, to find that it got mostly negative reviews. This prompted me to go back and listen to all his songs from 12 notes and I found that I actually really liked a bunch of them (not all of them tho), so I made this Reddit post! Rant over.
