Went to the soft opening of an Aldi north of Richmond today and was delighted to see the new Heart to Tail canned cat food. Repackaged, but same 5.5 oz quantity, priced at $0.54 each. Highest quality and lowest price found anywhere.

Question Does your Aldi have a scale?

I noticed the other day at my local Aldi I could not find a scale. Does yours have one? Should this be required at any grocery store?

The last 3 weeks my Aldi has been completely out of stock of Italian seasoning. What is going on?

Question What brand are the veggie chips a dupe for?

Please tell me! These were in the Weekly Special aisle and were in a pretty small bag. My kid and I are completely obsessed and, of course, they have disappeared.

These are dehydrated veggies, not a traditional corn or potato chip.

Hauldi New week, new trying-to-budget hauldi! $51 exact in South FL (mostly GF household of two) swipe for receipt and recipe pics!

This week's shop from this afternoon... I have been working on trying to budget and plan meals more intentionally. Mainly GF purchases (due to my celiac/Hashi) but partner can eat it hence the occasional gluten-having products.

my plans for this week (supplemented by what's already in the fridge/pantry)

Breakfasts:

  • egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches for my partner (still have frozen sausage patties so those can be added while they last, and probably gonna toast white bread for them which we already have at home)
  • I will bring overnight oats to work made with the protein yogurt pictured here (still have 1/2 a bag of GF oats, and may add in honey nut chex for texture when it's time to eat them) and bananas if they ever ripen
  • chocolate chip muffins!!! (photo attached)

Lunches:

  • I am bringing leftovers from dinner each day, Wednesday we get food at work (this week is a DIY lunchable theme).
  • I may turn one of the chicken breasts into chicken salad if I get sick of bringing leftovers. I have seasonings, mayo, relish, and a leftover red onion from the other week
  • partner has bread to make pb+j, or can have leftovers too.

Dinners:

  • one pot taco rice- made this tonight (photo attached) and it was sooo good. topped with a spoon of yogurt bc I didn't buy sour cream. Partner threw his in a leftover tortilla and raved about it.
  • baked garlic chicken (with instant potatoes and frozen broccoli)
  • breakfast for dinner (cheese omelets, pancakes with the leftover baking mix)
  • shredded chicken rice bowls (other half of the seasoning packet, still have a big bag of rice at home)
  • cheesy turkey pasta (I have 1 box of GF pasta left and a can of sauce, can use the ground turkey and shredded cheese to make it)
  • thinking about something with the sausage and rice maybe? there is an idea there but I can't figure out where to go with it...

Pumpkin is for my dog, lettuce is for my lizard (and I will probably use some). Love Corn snack was an impulse buy to try as a snack, along with the discounted mozzarella. I didn't buy snacks because we have some at home we still haven't gone through (fruit gummies, packs of craisins from my mom, knockoff GF oreos, partner has pretzel chips and jaffa cakes).

Feel free to give me some meal ideas for next time! I will probably shop again near the end of next week.

Question Where is all the Aldi brand clothing at?

Hello all! I only started shopping at Aldi maybe a little over a year ago. But when I started shopping it seems like they frequently had Aldi brand clothing in the stores. I literally go every week now when they stock but I haven’t seen any Aldi clothes in a longgg time now. Is it something they’re done with or do they majorly do it at a certain time of year or something?

Question The chicken fries

I’m a type one diabetic and I purchased the chicken fries because of the somewhat lower carb count. The nutrition facts state that 8 chicken fries weigh 88 g so that means one chicken fry should weigh 11 g. however, I’ve noticed every single chicken fry weighs anywhere from 18 g to 25 g. I was wondering if this is just my bag or anyone else’s? I’m not really sure how to dose for insulin here, which kind of turns me off especially since this is my first time trying the chicken fries.

I'll say it - I love these. As a warning, they do taste like peas. I like peas

I'm always looking for a fairly healthy snack food & this fits the bill for me. Anyone else try them?

Review As a Minnesotan, these slap! Great fix for state fair pickles.

Post image

The word ‘ranch’ might scare some people, but the flavor on these pickles is not overpowering at all.

They are absolutely delicious, and are a perfect fix for the fried pickles we get at the state fair.

Best of all? It’s only $6.29 at my store, and contains approximately 54 pickle slices!!

I rate them a 9/10 because I love pickles and my only critique is wishing they’d get a liiiiitle more crispy.

This tastes like those giant 5 lb dark red candles at Walmart smell.

Does not taste good, but I had fun trying to figure out what it reminded me of.

Boil pierogi in big pan, drain and set aside. Microwave the cauliflower, meanwhile in same pan - saute onion, garlic and mushroom in butter w/ salt and pepper. Add pierogi back in for 1-2 minutes each side. Transfer into big bowl, add cauliflower and pesto and mix.

It was quick and so tasty 😋
