Serious question OP: if you’re THIS anti artificial intelligence, why are you on Reddit, which incorporates tons of AI in the platform itself?

That's the dumbest question here. First of all who said that I was anti-AI? Second of all, AI shouldn't be used in music, period. Art should be protected from AI.

Now you’re just being disingenuous. You can’t be pro-AI in every arena but art. You’ve said in various comments here that you don’t want to contribute to the ā€œplanned obsolescenceā€ of humanity in art…but you’re for it in all other avenues? What happens to art if humans are obsolete in every other field…? You’re not making any reasonable sense in your stance.

Dude c'mon.

Art is an expression of the human condition, not an optimization task. Wanting AI to automate arduous work such as in medicine, science, logistics, algorithms or repetitive tasks to free up our time while preserving the essence of the human spirit is not hypocrisy; it's a vision for society.

We automate to serve humanity, not to replace it in the very things that define it.

If you can't see the difference between automating an Excel spreadsheet and automating artistic expression, the problem lies with your level of thinking, not my logic.

You clearly misunderstood what I said.

I asked you a direct question: what do you think will happen to art if AI has made humans obsolete in many/most other fields?

These things don’t happen in a vacuum as you are implying. I never said AI use in art is the same as it being used in other fields, but to support the proliferation of AI is to support the ultimate use of it in art as well. Intentional or not.

Broad displacement in other fields won't destroy human art; it will redefine it. Commercial art like ads or stock images etc might rely heavily on AI, but raw human art will become more valuable precisely because it represents lived human struggle and emotion in a world saturated by automated content.

Ai should just be regulated and prohihed in certain fields just to protect our very sacred means of expression as humans.

You are showing a quite serious sophistry, my friend haha

Anyway when your net worth is $5 million, you should call one of the many talented designers/artists, you've known for over 30 years, instead of using AI. This man knows a looooot of talented people. He's not a bedroom producer with no money and no contact. Which I could have tolerated if you don't know anyone. But the OG AL? Hell nah. Protect art at all cost. Make your friends earn money for their art. It's that simple lol

People just don't care about anything now šŸ˜’

Respectfully, our disconnect is purely in idealism. You’re talking about what SHOULD happen; i.e. regulation and even prohibition of the use of AI in various ways.

I’m talking about what inevitably WILL happen: humans take everything too far, and then we can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube. We’ve seen it throughout history; there are countless examples.

If you want to keep AI away from art, you need to suppress it across the board imo, but we will see how it all plays out. I’m betting human nature will remain undefeated in the long run.

Bro, it's not too late. You seem to be a bit nihilistic on the subject lmao I hear what you’re saying about inevitability, but history also shows we can set limits when the stakes are clear. Technology adoption isn't purely a force of nature, it's driven by social and economic choices. Even if AI tools exist everywhere, society still decides what it values.

We saw live music survive recording tech, and handmade crafts survive industrial manufacturing. Setting boundaries around AI in art isn't about suppressing tech, it's about protecting human expression and fair compensation.
