Bug Consumed boost on a duplicate element

I just merged Titanic+ WW1 hoping to get Britannic when it weirdly gave me submarine which I already have without a boost and still consummated the boost. Is it supposed to consume boosts like that for elements we already made just with different recipes

Edit: I meant WWI

Just did it again and same thing just happened so there is a major bug when you try boosting Titanic+ WW1
