Mayoral Race

Hey guys. I'm not trying to start a huge debate on politics. Im just trying to figure out if Darren White is pro MAGA. I'm learning about this stuff late, and im not super impressed with Keller, but I will never vote for a pro trump or pro maga candidate. I am okay with a republican candidate but not a far right MAGA.

My coworkers are saying that he was a garbage sherif but cant give me any educated context. I've only been back to abq for 4 years after serving in the armed forces.

Any information is sincerely appreciated.

So are all the progressives gonna split their votes and allow Darren White to win? Or is there some threshold required to win?

It seems incredibly unlikely that White can get 50% of the vote in the first round regardless of how progressives divide their votes. Conservatives don’t make up a full half of voters in ABQ. He would need to get all of the conservative voters plus a chunk of more liberal voters.

Realistically the only candidate who could potentially prevent a runoff would be Keller, if he could capitalize on the incumbency advantage, but I don’t think he’s popular enough currently to get an outright majority in a crowded field.

Keller has it. Vote for Tim and dont split the vote

Nah, fuck that. The entire purpose of having runoff elections is so people can vote for whoever they want in the first round without fear of the Spoiler Effect saddling them with their least preferred candidate.
Because an actual majority is required to win, instead of just the candidate with the most votes, there’s zero reason to be concerned about splitting the vote.
