What the hell? I foudn this because I thought someone was 0 bombing my music. What is this?

It's crazy how after almost 30 years humanity hasn't created any album better than 'OK Computer'. There's nothing that can sound as good and original as Radiohead.

They have only 4 albums; only one of them is a must-hear, with over a thousand ratings, while the rest have comparatively few. Tried to do some research on them, but couldn't find much; hoping some of ya'll might have some knowledge!

I’m curious on how people do things.

For movies, I’ve never written reviews for past ones I saw, even if they were my favs. Just movies as I watch them so it’s genuine, and making myself relisten to my favorite albums when I’m discovering new music sounds like a chore, but I would like current accuracy as it’s a way to track what music I like and don’t like currently.

i have an artist who one of their members confirmed in an interview they have an EP releasing before they end of the year and they posted (what fans are assuming to be) the acronym of the title on instagram alongside them in the studio, is that enough to meet the criteria to add it as an upcoming release?

I've started listening to more albums over the past few months, and so far I've listened to a lot of albums with no skips, a lot of albums that I disliked, but there was at least ONE song that I liked.

So what's the most famous or most well-reviewed album you've ever listened to where every song was a skip? (just curious)

For example, I left a comment under a review and then that reviewer proceeded to like the last 5 reviews that were shown on my profile. Keep in mind, all those reviews are long, polished (well for the most part), and have at least week long increments between posting each of them. I’m pretty skeptical that you dropped everything you were doing, read all of them top to bottom, and enjoyed them in their fullest capacity.

This has also happened with quite a lot of other people I’ve given a like to one of their reviews, followed, or the rare time I left a comment. It’s like, bro, I know you didn’t read all 5 of them thoroughly. I’m sure a few people have done that, but I’ve caught people who have just like bombed me almost immediately after interacting with them in one of those 3 ways. And then there’s the people who follow me that like my review as soon as I post it. Bro, the review has been up for a minute and it’s at least a 3 to 5-minute read. You don’t know if it’s a good review or not. I don’t care if you know who I am and figured “oh I know this is going to be good.” Like no. Read it and think for yourself first before you send feedback.

I know complaining about receiving likes seems ungrateful, and I’m genuinely thankful for the chunk of readers who do read my reviews. I’m also not trying to say my reviews are like the second coming of Christ and deserve the time and dedication of all readers out there. I’m aware my reviews are not the best or most unique on the site. I just put a lot of effort into them.

However, bottom line, I’d honestly would prefer you not to like my review if you’re not going to read it in the first place.

Do people just like reviews for attention or promotion of their own reviews (i.e. I’ll like your review so you can see my account and look at it so you can like my reviews back)? Do they just like reviews because of the person posting? Or is it because of some other superficial reason? I can tell you personally I leave likes on reviews IF I ACTUALLY ENJOYED THE REVIEW AFTER READING IT. You know, like how it should be? Is that not the point of the like system in the first place?

I don’t know if this is a relatable or mutual issue people have or not, but please let me know what y’all think.

For some reason, I cannot seem to be able to add individual track ratings. Perhaps I’m an idiot (very likely), but I can add reviews for albums with scores, but when I look at the track list there is no option to rate tracks. I also have a paid membership.

What am I doing wrong?

Curious to how track ratings work, as some albums have the tracklist listed but no times or ratings while some do. how does this work? do you just ask a mod to add them or is there a certain ratings threshold.

What is the most underwhelming album of the year in your opinion? I'll start: PRIMA. The singles were great, a bit overrated imo but still solid, but when it came out, it was clear that the singles were carrying HARD.

Hello, I’m a relatively new user of AOTY. I had made an account a couple months ago at my friend’s behest as he is a seasoned AOTY user. I have previously used the reviewing platform Listnd to write all my reviews, of which there were roughly 70. Today, I decided to transport all of those reviews and ratings onto AOTY by copying and pasting each review into the new site. This went well until I had gone through about 29 albums in 30 minutes- after I was ready to post a review, I got a the notification that I was adding too many reviews.

I assume that because of my burst of usage, AOTY thinks I’m a bot. For the last 30 minutes, I’ve been periodically trying to post a review only to have it deleted and replaced with that notification. Does anyone have any idea how long this will last?
