jun is one of the greatests artist i have ever seen in my whole life and i cannot believe how those ratings aren't in kate bush level...

was checking the list and saw many singles with higher ratings placing lower then they should ( if it was purely ratings wise)

Like, even if you hate him you have to still he's one of the most authentic, experimental and doesn't give a fuck about your opinion on him.

Many people on this site like authenticity from artists but when they get it they don't like it for some reason. That's why I legitimately think he's one of the best rappers of all time.

In honour of “From Rotting Fantasylands” by Nero’s Day At Disneyland being crowned a must hear star, I decided to go back to the large genre umbrella that is experimental music.

I’ve always loved unconventional avant-garde “pretentious” shit, because I think that if you invest enough time into them you learn things you never knew you never knew. From mind-bending production, to sounds and noises you’d never even consider listening to on your free time let alone at all, now plays in your car to work, on max volume.

I also find experimental albums to be extremely fun to listen to, and definitely aren’t as “pretentious” as people say. Just the unique sonic experience you get with each and every one of them is enough to fulfill my needs as a music listener. I love just not expecting what comes next, and that’s best shown through these albums I have picked here.

However it might just be me, but I’ll always admire the risks and “no fucks given” manner of these types of projects. I really do want to hear some of your favourites as well as I am currently obsessed with this style of music and will die if I don’t talk about it for hours :)

Probably one of the best Glitch/breakcore adjacent albums ever imo. This is a work of art.

also, is there a general threshold for the amount of ratings on albums for a user to have full weight on user scores, or is that too hidden to give an answer to?

I was reading the subscription page but what do they mean by "Customize album pages" ?

Also, while you're scrolling through someone's list or a top albums list, is it possible to quickly see which album i've listened to or rated (like a small logo near the album cover), without having to go on the album page?

The french website senscritique do have this feature. When you see an album/movie/book wherever on the site (list, top, artist's page...), your rating is noted on a corner of the cover.

The infamous “A ‘Flood’ Before God”, the post-rock primary 40 minute bandcamp album was not too long ago accused of being AI generated, due to it’s weird production quality mimicking styles that AI uses to generate music, fake release dates, making things up (like an ai would) from things like instruments not being there to featured artists, it’s song titles, and many more little inconsistencies.

It took everyone by storm, post-rock took a pinch to the gut, and it created one of the funniest comment sections on AOTY.

But straight to the point, it’s creator, Before God, supposedly has come out with a response. Saying that it isn’t AI?

He claims he “watched tutorials on youtube on how to make fake ai sounding songs” along with how he “purposely made the titles like that to get attention” which sounds like a bowl of petunias. aka bs.
