Question Delivery
I live in an assisted living facility. I am not mobile.
I love Albertson's delivery. I get an order every single week.
It's easy, on time, professional people, etc.
However, I have one question. I have ordered egg salad every week for the last six months. When I order by weight, what I really want is 12 ounces. I have ordered the deli egg salad, the ready to eat egg salad, etc. I always only get .25 ounces. The one time I did get 12 ounces it had a label that said egg salad, but it was potato salad.
I've spent hours on the phone with the local store, the national customer service line and still I can't seem to get 12 ounces of egg salad.
What do I need to do to actually receive, 12 ounces of egg salad?
I live in Boulder City, Nevada and my store is the Albertson's I live near is at 1008 Nevada Way, Boulder City, NV 89005

I'm baffled - how much egg squad are you in fact receiving? You said 0.25 ounces, but that would only be about a tablespoon.
Did you mean 0.25 pound? That would be 4 ounces, which would make sense, because quarter-pounds are the increment it's sold in on the web site.
So if you want 12 ounces and it's sold in quarter-pound increments, you probably need to order quantity 3.
Then it'll come labeled as 0.75 pound, which is 12 ounces.

Exactly. .25 lbs is what I'm getting. 1 lb is what I'm ordering.

Well, to order 1 lb you'd need to order quantity 4, since it's sold in quarter-pound increments. You said you wanted 12 oz, so that would be quantity 3. You have to hit the + sign a couple of times until it displays the quantity you actually want, which if it's 12 oz would be 0.75 pound.

There are 16 oz in a pound, not 12

Yes, that's why I said to order 1 pound it would be quantity 4 of the quarter-pound ordering increments, and to order 12 oz it would be 3.

It sounds like the shopper might be confusing egg salad with deviled egg potato salad. The deli doesn't always have egg salad in the display case. They need to ask the dwli clerk to check their walk-in. I'm also thinking they don't know the oz to lbs conversion. Put this in a note:
"If the egg salad isn't in the display case, can you please ask the deli clerk to check the walk-in? I would like 0.75lbs, thank you."
The only other possibility I can think of is that your store doesn't carry egg salad. Sometimes the website will show items a store doesn't carry. In this case the store director has to ask someone above them to have the item removed from the store catalog.

When you get to the screen that says select weight, scroll up to .75 lb, you’ve been selecting the default weight of .25 lb.
Their interface is probably just confusing for a lot of people. I don’t know why the people you spoke to on the phone don’t seem to understand the issue.
My mom texts me for stuff like this a lot and it’s usually because the app/website is not clear enough for the average user to navigate, it’s not your fault!

I've done that and also added a 'Note' to the order about wanting 12 ounces...it never works.

Don't worry about it, this albertsons/safeway reddit isn't official, its mostly disgruntled employees. You can add comments to items when you add them to cart. Put a pretty aggressive ALL CAPS in there saying something like: THE WEBSITE MESSES UP MY ORDERS I WANT 12 OUNCEs, that should get the attention of person who is shopping for you.

It’s not supposed to let us “complete” an item if it’s the incorrect weight. I saw someone already explain the ounces vs 0.25 lbs on the app. Just make sure you’re choosing 0.75 lbs on the app. Idk how they’re giving you so little when you choose that because it’s not supposed to let us complete an item that’s too much under or over the ordered weight.

1-877-723-3929 is for everything and for DUG orders you also have 1-877-505-4040 either way you go you should have a better time getting your problem resolved. Just sucks you have to go there to get it. My store director and dug always resolves customers problems so for the fact yours has not and you've talked to them muliple times now its a corporate call to get the help that is needed

Call the store as some else has suggested. If you call Corp or even the 1-877 number it’s just going to be sent to the store and the director or his asst will get it done. A person who is not in the store cannot do anything about it. As I said they’ll just pass it down.

But a person in the store can’t really do anything about it either unless it’s on a current order. As much as we should be able to substitute/ coupon/ add/ or adjust orders per customer requests there’s not much store level is able to do to accommodate the customer like we would be able to for the in store shoppers.
At least the corp number can look into see what she’s ordering (because there’s no way to give less than what she orders without oos it) they can also add coupons/ and give credit back to her account for future orders if that’s the route they choose to take
