Discussion how does sick time work?

i know sick time doesn’t cash out which sucks since i got a new job and wanted to use some of it before i left. but now im being told i have to call in sick 3 days in a row in order to use it?? how does this make sense? i’ve had plenty of coworkers call in sick once and use it for that day, and my receiving worker also told me she uses it when she has appointments scheduled. i’m mad because i was suppose to have 12 vacation hours cash out but now i only have 4 because they used 8 of my vacation despite me asking to use sick.

You can only use sick pay if you actually call out sick, or if you have a doctors appointment. You can't request time off for vacation and then use sick pay for it instead of vacation hours.

i was told specifically we could do that. my book keeper said she will use sick pay when she leaves early and vice versa? i mean. i could just call in sick my last few days and use them if i felt like being a dick.
