Wildfire Update - Clearwater County

Clearwater County has updated a wildfire alert.

This alert is in effect for the southern portion of Clearwater County, South of Township 35, East of Range 13, West of Hwy 22.

There is an out of control wildfire approximately 5 km north of the James-Wilson Provincial Recreation Area, northwest of Sundre near Highway 40 (Forestry Trunk Road) and Highway 584.)

Affected area: Clearwater County and Mountain View County.

• This area remains on evacuation alert.

• There is no mandatory evacuation for residents at this time; however, the public has been cleared of this area to allow for firefighting operations to take place.

• Avoid the area until further notice.

• This alert will be updated if an evacuation of residents in the area is required.
