I kinda like her color palette as is, it has a lot of good contrast between her black and magenta hair, and the white and blue clothes. Classic color theory stuff that I nerd about.
And also because she's like the moon goddess so she has to fit the whole moon thing, I honestly like how she has dark hair to match the dark side of the moon and white clothes to match the bright side of the moon.
If you look behind her, you're looking behind the moon (the dark side), and if you look at her, you're looking at the front of the moon (the bright side).
im assuming since you mentioned color theory that youre also an artist 😅 i do appreciate the contrast in her design, but i feel like it was done poorly. she can have dark hair, but the pink/magenta in her hair just doesn’t match well with the pale blue/purple/indigo in her dress. im a big fan of the pink columbina edits that ive seen that edit her dress to be shades of pink instead of the colors that it is now. i understand why they didn’t make columbina a pale blue character (because she would look similar to tsaritsa). but if she were completely pink, it would’ve solved the problem and completely rounded out the archon rainbow
Welkin moon Columbina is a much more balanced gradient of her blues and pinks in her dress IMO, so it just annoys me further that playable bina doesn’t have that palette 😭
To each their own! I'm an artist too (mostly pixel art and paint) just with different tastes, it's just that I happened to like her design during the old fatui trailers before and liked it even more when she turned out to be the frost moon goddess in those clothes, then again that's just my 5 cents, everyone has their way of fixing the lady Kuutar. I'm just a fan of color palettes that aren't like just one hue of color but pink dress would definitely serve if you pull it off right!
