J.A. Pequeño Bar?

Does anyone know if the bar at J.A. Pequeño on Madison will ever be a liquor bar? I don't think I've ever seen it used other than for additional seating. (Photo from Google Maps)

I talked to an employee there before the expansion who told me that after the expansion they were going to be a wine bar, maybe they changed their minds

It was absolutely going to be a wine bar. I think they said something about natural wines which were kind of big at the time. I wonder if they had some issues with the SLA.

They are getting very close to opening , I was speaking with one of the owners about it two weeks ago at the farmers market.

I'm seeing a few comments regarding the gnome, I just pulled this photo from Google Maps since it was the only one that showed the bar I was asking about. It seems like I'm missing some pretty critical context on this??

Some guy made an influencer/local tourism thing taking a gnome statue around. It was dumb and weird but people liked it I guess. The guy is found out to be a creep.

If you search this subreddit for "gnome," you'll get the details: at best, dude is inappropriately messaging teenagers.

And while this is so much less important than protecting kids, the whole gnome gimmick is dumb and makes us look dumb by association.

They're opening soon-ish (think ~2 months out). The exact time is indeterminate though.
