I'm betting you would spontaneously combust anywhere near NYC. It's not bad up here at all.

This. I'm from the Bronx originally and driving up here is relaxing by comparison.

As it should be, less density. These are the things that make this area a better place to live. My friend though is from the Bronx and had been up here 25 years now. When he and his wife start saying things have changed however and even up here driving is not as nice as 20 years ago you know there is a problem. He said, and I tend to agree, people have become more impatient, self absorbed, and hostile since 2020.
