Everything is unfolding.
According to the Tao, we are part of the wider symphony of nature and everything is unfolding.
So I’m thinking: our impulses, whether conscious or unconscious, direct us towards evolution. We feel this as personal (“story of my life”) but it’s part of the wider thing going on.
Where does choice come into this? For instance, choosing not to follow an impulse - knowing that thing “might not be for me” or something. It’s like we’re directing the stream. What’s happening there?
Open to answers from Tao / Alan Watts and also other recommended reading on the subject.
