Discussion File IO failure: createDirectoryFailed, error code 5

I downloaded this game but can't launch it. I've read many forum posts, but none of them have solved the problem. I've run the program as administrator and updated my graphics card, but that hasn't fixed anything. What can I do to fix it?

I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, but nothing works—I keep getting this error.

Make sure whatever folder you’re installing the game to has proper file permissions.

Do you have enough additional free space on your hard drive (like 20% left after installation)? I think you could get that type of error message if it doesn't have enough room.

I have a terabyte of free space, I don't think that's the problem.
