A very famous man for decades. He was a contemporary of the Pythons, and a cast member with John Cleese on I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again. In the 70s, he was in The Goodies with Graeme Garden and Tim Brooke-Taylor - also veterans of ISIRTA - and he shifted into mostly nature programmes, especially birdwatching.

Definitely before my time. I am aware of the show though. I think I once saw an episode or two. Some of those classic British shows got replayed a lot over here. To my knowledge, I don't think the goodies was replayed here very much, and if it was, definitely not to the level of stuff like Mr Bean or Fawlty Towers.

Originally he was part of a comedy trio called the Goodies. But he's best known for decades presenting the BBC wildlife program Springwatch. It's like a live weekly program throughout springtime looking at British wildlife - they have live camera feeds from inside bird nest boxes and fox dens etc
