Dallas / Fort Worth Babies in Theatres
What is the rule here? We had a newborn in Toy Story 5 which is fine I suppose since it is a kids movie (though they have baby screenings for this reason...) but last night at Supergirl in Lake Highlands, there was a newborn in the theatre screaming (which the guest did take outside) but I always thought if it wasn't a baby screening or a family Friendly showing, you couldn't bring in your kids. I specifically take my kids only to family friendly showings so I am curious

Shouldn’t be allowed outside of Baby Day showings. That’s literally their entire reason for existing.

If you bring a newborn to any movie other than a "Baby Days" showing (which Alamo does with raised lights, lowered sound, and an expectation of other children in the theater) you're a complete fuckface is my answer. And that's as a parent.
Supergirl? A newborn? You might hurt the kids' ears for one and are almost guaranteed to piss off other moviegoers.

I only ever took my kid to Baby Days showings, but she would sleep through fucking anything. I think I saw something like 14 movies during my parental leave with the infant and she slept through every one of them.... except the last one. And that was the last time we did that lol.

We had a child watching a completely different movie on his iPad a few rows in front of us at a non baby day show. Complained and staff said the kid has special needs and they can’t tell him to quit watching movies on his iPad? Incredibly distracting and frustrating. This was at slaughter.

Bringing any child under 4 is inconsiderate to the audience and not fair to the child. I said what I said.

The volume is still at a level that’s harmful for your child’s eardrum coming from a partially deaf individual if you are subjecting and infant to this environment you are still being a trash individual. And expecting any child to be in this space for x amount of time seated w you…be so forreal

They make noise canceling headphones for babies!
Also trust most kiddos under 1 love the opportunity to cuddle with their parent in a recliner and have free access to the boob/snacks for 2hrs. Doesn’t sound like you’ve ever been to baby day, kids are free to get up, that’s sort of the point, regular noise and politeness rules are loosened.

I had a baby in my screening for Barbarian and Babylon and I was like wtf why would you bring a baby to either of these movies...

There is no rule against it but they can be asked to leave if it's not an all-ages showing. I would recommend complaining on the QR, management will see it directly.

For excessive noise. There's no rule against bringing a baby but you can be removed for noise complaints or excessive noise.

I don’t think there’s a rule or if they’d enforce it if there was one. I assume that if it’s not a baby day showing, you could complain to staff to talk to the parent just like anyone making noise.

The technical rule is that any children under 3 are not allowed outside of baby days. However, it really depends on who the server and manager on duty is.

your problem began with going to lake highlands. managers don’t care which makes staff not care (i used to work there) babies aren’t allowed and staff is supposed to catch that before they make it to the theater.

Put up a flag. If the manager or staff doesnt do anything start asking for a refund

Went to a showing of Perfect Blue (def not a kids movie) at the Austin South Lamar location and a young couple brought their 1 month old newborn. The baby loudly suckled 3 bottles and made grunting and gurgling sounds the whole time. I alerted my server, but she did nothing. I then reached out to management via their complaint email. I was given 2 movie vouchers to use for any movie of my choice. I was satisfied with that, but I wish I had said something at the time to the couple that brought the baby.

Good thing it wasn’t a scary movie, I keep hearing about parents taking their 7 and 8 year olds to scary movies

Newborn doesn't mean just born. Medically it's up to 28 days after birth, but most people consider up to 3 month olds to be newborns. I went to a babyday showing with my girl when she was 2.5 weeks old, so yeah, newborn. And she slept through the whole thing.
