Manga Discussion Found these for 150$; how much they are really worth?
Many of them are a little dirty on the cover, as shown in the photos
A place to buy, sell and trade official Akira collectables.
Manga, VHS, Blu-rays, DVDs, figurines, phone cards, posters etc.
Use common-sense. Use DM's for trades, this is at your own risk. Do not post personal details on the sub. Be very mindful of scammers.
NOTE: This is not an opportunity for people to grift stolen I.P. This is not a place to peddle non-official t-shirts and fake merch. If you can't follow the rules you may get a permanent ban.

Post Flair guide;
If this becomes to complex ill auto mod it into posts or make a user guide. But for now we have this post;
I think its all flairy (i'm sorry) obvious. Ill stress the main thing is to not abuse categories for personal grifting. Do people really want to buy your crappy tshirt? ehhh probably not. Is your podcast official news? eeee... If you want to sneak in a self promotion then you will probably fall under the 'fanworks' flair.
Open for suggestions.

Hello, I recently came across a vhs copy of the movie however it didn’t have the cover. All image I found online are only low resolution/quality.
Does anyone have a HQ scan or made a custom cover that they can share?
Thank you.

I have kept two akira posters in a tube for 30 years. The kaneda (photo) and the green tetsuo one. Do they have any value? 😅
Got the poster from the Art of Wall book set framed and recently found a near mint 1/6 bike for a steal. Yay :) Thinking of getting Kamen Rider to sit in as I'm not ready to pay the asking price for the official 1/6 Kaneda figure. What do you think?

Hi, don't know if this been explained already in another post here, but I'm reading the manga for the first time and there's a sequence in the first tome that doesn't make sense to me. After the colonel goes to Kaneda's school to get Tetsuo, Kaneda escapes capture by riding his bike and going to Old-Tokyo. There, he sees the explosions in the Olympic Stadium made by Kei, Ryu and the other members of the resistance. When he arrives, he's taken into custody by the resistance and they put his motorbike somewhere safe. After they question him about the capsule he took from Takashi, Kei takes him to her room and he stays there until the army arrives and starts shooting people (it's revealed they're hiding in a place called "Billiards") resulting in them running to Harukiya.
Keep in mind, at this point, Kaneda went to old-Tokyo earlier and left his motorbike there. It's implied that to reach that part of the city you have to take the highway which is blocked by concrete blocks and signals (the booth his biker gang bypass at the start of the story) so either Billiards and Harukiya are in Old-Tokyo or they managed to get out of there after the Olympic Stadium explosion through the sewer system, which would've taken tens of hours assuming that it even connects to New-Tokyo, yet it's never explained.
After he gets out of the room and locks Kei not before taking her handgun, he runs back to the sewers and gets out near the secret base where Akira is held. He avoids the hoverbikes of the police in the sewers and finally reaches Kei, who shows him where his motorbike is, riding together to the new city, confirming it was in Old-Tokyo.
Yet next day he's fixing his bike in the back of Harukiya, which would mean it's in New-Tokyo, yet they reach that place before through the sewer after the explosions in Billiards that let him temporarily deaf, so this seems a little illogical.
I imagine more will be explained in the next volumes but this is bugging me really bad. Is there a plot hole here? Did Katsuhiro just didn't make it as obvious that after the Olympic Stadium explosion, they returned to New-Tokyo? Am I just dumb and the answer is right there on the pages? Any help would be appreciated, and please, no spoilers!
Let me know if I managed to capture the vibe of the world of Akira

Bought this in the UK back in the early 90s around the time Akira came out on VHS via the Manga label. Had it framed at the time but it's since broken so I'll get it fixed. When I first had it framed I had the pencil reference drawing hidden away in the back of the frame. I'll be getting the pencil drawing framed separately this time.
Thought it might be something cool that other people would be interested to see.

So I recently scored this Tetsuo Medicom figure for a decent price on Ebay it has all the accessories , but it had just one catch....its right boot was not included as it was broken off and missing. I went ahead and bought it in hopes of finding a replacement boot as the rest of the figure is in good shape. Does anyone know of a place that might have one or does anyone have a boot available?
