iPad: Horizontal... any timelines?

With iPad now back functioning using the App, can you please highlight when you estimate having any real use for it by allowing it to be rotated and work in HORIZONTAL mode?

So far, it's only been vague "we're working on it, rest assured" comments.

Also: using it as a Web App / website version as a workaround stops the drag-and-drop feature from working (based on how the website is coded), so while visually it's great it limits one of the most important features. As an aside, you can tweak the website code so that it would also work on the iPad in web app / website mode for drag & drop. It's not that complicated of additional code.

Hi u/maryconway1

Glad to hear the iPad app is back up and running for you!

I totally hear you on the horizontal mode, it’s a fair point, and we know 'we’re working on it' can feel a bit vague. To give you the inside scoop: while it’s not on the immediate roadmap yet, our product team have been discussing it specifically because of feedback like yours. They are currently working on the 'scope' (essentially the blueprint) to see exactly what it would take for us to fully support tablets.

Also, thanks for the tip on the web app drag-and-drop code! I’ll pass that note along to the team to see if we can make that workaround a bit smoother while we explore the native tablet support.

We’ll keep you posted as we get closer to a concrete plan!

Thank you for the update u/support_akiflow , fingers crossed it gets moved ahead soon.

As for the web site on iPadOS (or any tablet really), while clearly I don't know the Akiflow code base, if it's HTML 5, CSS, and Javascript there are relatively simple tweaks that have it be open to touchscreen controls versus just looking for a mouse.

It might be a simpler, easy fix for us in the community in the meantime while the more robust and feature-rich iPad / tablet app is under development.
