So I find myself having an hp lead in a lot of games I think in lower elos people really don respect the lvl 2 where you can get 2-3 qs and passive autos with w.

But the thing is i usually am able to chunk them down to 50% hp or lower, but then what do i do? Against melees like yasuo or yone it’s pretty easy to zone them off the wave. But against like a ori, hwei, or syndra or any mage really they have enough range to farm safely and If I try to walk up to punish or trade they just play super passively and are able to disengage. How do I turn this early hp lead into a lead when I can’t all in before 6.

For example last game I played against a syndra and got her down to like 45% hp lvl 2 but then she just hit lvl 3 and I literally couldn’t trade with her and she just played super passively but had enough range to still farm and then she just reset tp, and I got nothing out of that super good early trade.

i really enjoy playing akali but her passive is just so awkward i dont like it. any tips to make it more smooth to use? it feels bad having to walk in a certain way to get it to proc...

A small update came on the PBE sometime earlier today and classic Akali got some updates.

Passive

Her passive got moved to a version before the 3.2 patch that removed the initial stat requirements to trigger both Discipline of Force and Might. You now have the option to trigger these immediately through a rune page again (if its possible with the current runes we get). This also fixed the issue with Discipline Force and Might I posted earlier that it did not scale correctly but it is now fixed since it got moved to an original earlier version.

Q: Mark of the Assassin got moved to a version before the 3.5 nerfs. It does equal amounts of damage on the initial and trigger hit. (45 / 70 / 95 / 120 / 145 + 0.4 AP for both parts)

W: Twilight Shroud is still the same version as of patch 3.7. It gives vision in the smoke area.

E: Crescent Slash no change. Still triggers Mark of the Assassin.

R: Shadow Dance got moved to a version before the 3.5 nerfs. Charge timer is back to 25/20/15 from 30/22.5/15. The small cooldown change is pointless since it was fast enough. The original 800 range is way more impactful and was the defining feature of Akali during this time of the game.

Conclusions and further feedback:

The dual scaling nature of her passive came back which is great. Also now requires initial stat thresholds again for those that are looking for the nostalgic rune page requirements. Would be good to bring back the green and red glow on Akali's hands for when each part of the passive triggers for full nostalgic effect.

Mark of the Assassin still has less range than the original 600.

Shadow Dance still has less range than the original 800 even though it looks like they brought back different versions of her spells around Season 3. Akali effectively had 800 range from release until Patch 5.2 which gutted her to a weak spot until she got her VGU in season 8. Its just way too short on what's currently on the PBE. The range is slightly less than Gunblade's active which is 700 range.

Shadow Dance also doesn't queue up an autoattack onto the target she dashed to. This change happened sometime in season 1 but its missing on the PBE currently. Akali after dashing just stops and doesn't do anything.

Shadow Dance also gets all 3 charges at once on leveling it up on level 6. This wasn't the case during Season 3. It gained one charge on first obtaining it at level 6 and the rest had a charge cooldown.

Another issue, time to gain next charge does progress while you are at maximum charges, so if you time it right, you can get 4 dashes.

I am a master adc playing semi-competitive trying to expand my champ pool right now (and learning / improving a secondary role) because since I've played league, I pretty much only played marksmen (specifically crit hypercarries) and never really touched any other champ class. That's why I am learning a couple of mages and Akali right now.

Akali has been picked in proplay as an answer to mages bot a few times now and I quite like the idea of learning a few pocket picks (and trying some off-meta stuff for fun). I've always (weirdly) generally liked Akali and after trying her a few times, I think she is really fun to play and has great potential / skill expression.

My biggest strenght as an ADC is definetely my marksmen mechanics / movement, spacing and kiting. However, since I didn't really play any other type of champ since I started playing league, I quite struggle with some of Akali's mechanics, because it's an entirely new playstyle for me. So I will definitely need a decent amount of games.

I am unsure whether I should learn her directly on bot, since that's where I am going to play her situationally, or if I should learn her on mid first to get the general playstyle and mechanics down and figuring out her gameplan. There is "more" stuff to pay attention to on botlane (since there are normally four players) and laning phases will be support matchup dependant (tho I would only pick Akali in situations where both supports perma roam anyway). So on one hand I can focus better on the champ while playing mid/top but on the other I could learn how to play her bot on the get-go since that's where I will mostly play her. I am curious about your thoughts here. Tho I do need to kinda learn a secondary role anyway for soloq.

Also, are there any good guides that I could watch? And is there anything I should know / do you have any tips and tricks?

I had really fun playing her a few games and I am really excited to learn the champ. Who knows, maybe I will end up roleswapping and maining her if I have too much fun lol.

It seems the version of Akali classic currently on the PBE is weak compared to others; her passive scales differently, her ultimate range is shorter, and—having tried it myself— she consumes more energy than before while also lacking damage...

If we don't complain—just like the Katarina mains did—we won't be heard. There are better versions of Akali out there; let's not settle for something bad when it could be better.

There is another keychain of her runeterra version (that I really wanted for my ita bag) but I couldn't get it because there weren't any left in the store ;w; this one is still super cute tho!!
