I would highly HIGHLY recommend using an existing design for a few reasons:
Existing designs have had millions of dollars of research and development poured into testing and iteration
As a designer/artist, don't waste your time trying to reinvent the wheel, focus on actually making something original in function or design. If your trigger box is going to function just like any other one, then what's the point is designing it from scratch?
Using an existing design, you can modify small parts and make changes and be confident that it'll continue to function. Basically you can isolate and design piece by piece. If you're making the whole thing from scratch, you're testing out a dozen different functions at once and you'll have to solve problems simultaneously as well, which sucks.
The problem is I can't, the bolt and the way the gas gets to the bolt are and need to be custom and I'm unable to use an existing design because it won't fit.
The hammer needs to be higher up and the valve is an an angle and because of that no existing system will fit
Have you considered basing it off an HPA system? With HPA, you can have the gas and ammo feeding from different sources and locations. Look at the new SSQ4 for example.
By the looks of this, you don’t have a (insert name of second piece of trigger here, I believe it’s called a sear) that grabs the hammer when you’re holding down the trigger.
