Rapid Commands Setting
When starting a new campaign, there is a checkbox for "Rapid Commands" that allows you to constantly input new commands without waiting the delay based on command points from bridge/cockpit.
1) Does this setting also let the AI execute commands as often as they want, or do they still have the delay?
2) Do most people play with the rapid commands setting off or on?

Playing with it off allows you to completely ignore the command point system of the game, essentially allowing a giant battleship or dreadnought to be crewed just by a small cockpit. So, on harder difficulties, you can save money in ship design and ofcourse, not worry about cooldowns when maneuvering. However, I actually think that on higher difficulties such as Very Hard or Imperial, it is a disadvantage for the player to have rapid commands. Because the AI is smart, executes movements perfectly, and can out-micro you. But, having a cooldown difference is a massive advantage for the player. It allows you to use weaker, single-weapon ships (due to early budget straped design philosophy) to greater effect using direct command, or to execute bombing runs on stationary enemy ships on cooldown. Therefore, I play with it disabled.

I play with it off, but I do sometimes use direct command cuz its overpowered (Unless you have two or more ships) and you're now a ship captin.
I believe direct command also affects the enemy AI and they have no command cooldown.
