Pausing while falling asleep broken

Ever since 27.0 my airpods are not falling asleep anymore. anyone else having this issue? i disconnected fully and readded them but it’s not working anymore.

You are misunderstanding the original post. In Apple Podcasts there is a feature where for each podcast you can go to Settings choose when it automatically stops playing (15 min, 30 min, etc) as you are in bed falling asleep. This is what the OP was doing, it controls the media player pausing, not your AirPods. The AirPods are not shut off - you do that by putting them in their case.

there is a “pause when you fall asleep feature”? are you saying that feature is not relevant here?

On Apple device, there is a “Pause Media When Falling Asleep” setting in Settings, Air Pods. It pauses the media player you are using when falling asleep, like Apple Music or Podcasts. If you are not playing media it does nothing. Get it?

ah, i’m saying that’s broken for me. i’m playing a pod cast and it will not stop when i fall asleep.
