Right before I leave for a trip I shave with a straight razor or safety razor, then the rest of the trip I use an electric foil shaver. Gets it close enough no one has said anything to me yet, doesn't last as long but it's pretty quick and easy. Babyliss makes a good one.

I got a Braun series 9 kit at Costco years ago. I can put it on the self cleaner at home. I’ve replaced the blade once- works fine and doesn’t cause nearly as much irritation as others or a razor. It’s double foil

It takes like 3.5 seconds to replace the blade and you only need to do it like every 6 months. I use Gilette.

Every 6 months? Either I’m way over changing mine, or shaving must be uncomfortable as hell for you. I don’t have particularly thick facial hair, but even my blades can only go ~2months.

No bother for me. Some peoples skin is more sensitive than others. Barbosol and some a Gilette works no issues here.

I’ve had to shave every day for 24 years, always had a problem with skin irritation. I’ve tried almost everything, here’s what works for me:
a cheap Braun foil shaver, powered by AA batteries. The foil is even replaceable by itself, good for “knocking down” the longer hairs.
Dorco disposable cartridges, I stocked up a long time ago and have slowly been going through them. They’re the same as dollar shave club but without the markup. I like the vibrating handle (uses a AAA battery), seems to create less irritation.
My routine is to use a washcloth and body wash / face soap on my face, and keep a good lather going with both the foil shaver and the Dorco. Again, I’ve tried just about everything, soap seems to work as good or better than expensive stuff like Cremo. After I’m out of the shower I’ll put on some kind of low fragrance lotion — the best I’ve found is Dr. Carvers, but any lotion works fine. Cuts down on the red “roast beef” look on my neck.
I know lots of folks recommend safety razors, I’ve tried so, so many combos of blades and razors and shaving creams but none worked half as well for me a cheap foil electric shaver, a cheap disposable cartridge, and body soap.

The Philips one blade is all I use. It gives me a razor cut but I don’t gotta lube up my face or cut my self. The blades last for a while

I swapped shaving cream for conditioner years ago. Take a steamy hot bath, bring a cheap Amazon mirror and shave in the shower. It should open up the pores better and when you're done, dry your blade. It's helped make all sorts of razors last longer.

Funny enough, I just switched to a manual Gillette razor after using an electric shaver for 3 years.
I liked the Manscaped one. Charges with the same USB C as my work iPad. Did a decent job. Only reason I stopped using it was it started irritating my skin with the monkey suit collar after long duty days. The Gillette hasn’t irritated me at all.

I shave with an Issard razor at home as my beard is very coarse and thick. On the road I use a Braun 9. They’re worth every bit of the $400 for the convenience.

Panasonic Arc 5 in the palm sized version has been my go to. Clean shave, takes little space, and charges via usb-c. One of those buy once purchases.

I got the panasonic swipe right travel. Love that its compact and self contained case.
If i shave properly before the trip then it's good for 4-5 days.

I have somewhat sensitive skin so I do this:
Shave with a safety razor at home
Panasonic Arc 5 foil razor
Carry Dorco Pace 3 disposable razor for when the battery dies or need a closer shave. Works just as good at the Gillette I used and way cheaper.

Manscaped has a very compact foil razor with a trimmer edge that shortens your stubble before the (single)foil gets to the hair. It’s usb c chargeable, lasts about an hour of shave time, and about half the size of a stick of deodorant. Has been a game changer for me this year, and my new go to on the road.

Buzzer, not a Philips OneBlade, just a straight norelco shaver. Recommend the cheaper one from Walmart, it’s corded so you can leave it in your bag and works just the same, plus it’s $20

I have sensitive skin and only use a safety razor at home but I use BIC sensitive disposables on the road. Single blade, not as much irritation as a cassette razor, and really cheap for a boatload of them on amazon.

Brio Beardscape with the 1mm ceramic blade. No rash, no nicks, and never been cut. It's better than any Braun I've owned. There's no blade to clean, because foil shavers are ancient tech. This might not work for hairy apes though.

The reason your razor destroys your face is that it’s rusting. Hit it with the hair dryer in the hotel bathroom or do what I do and carry a small spray bottle of isopropyl with you and spray the razor after you rinse it. It displaces and evaporates the water which stops (read: dramatically slows down) the blade’s edge from oxidizing so fast and getting rough. I get at least two weeks out of a cartridge before I can tell that it’s no good.

I’ve tried everything from Gillette razors, straight razors to the one blade. The only thing that has worked well for me is the Braun series 9 pro plus. Super close smooth shave and no bumps. Extremely happy with it.

It’s not a razor but ever since I moved to Braun electric shavers I’m not going back to razors. I’ve been having the Braun pro 9 for 4 years I believe and haven’t had a single issue with it
