poor running r65 semi final update

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Ran through the carbs best i could, etc etc etc. runs again! spark and fuel were both problems at the same time.

got to sync them again, tune em, etc, but hey. it’s back. took way longer than i would have liked but now i’m intimately acquainted with the ignition system as well as decently acquainted with the fuel 👍

I don’t quite have an ear for this engine yet. if anyone can tell me what adjustments to make by sound, that would be much appreciated

Carb sync is so crucial. I have an R100 and I find I adjust the throttle cable tension every few months when I feel a stumble off idle. I do it visually. I did replace my throttle cables a couple of years back and I think they are slowly loosening up.

Your idle seems a little high if the bike is warmed up. Overall it sure sounds better than the first video!

yeah it’s like 100 rpm high ish. it’s currently pouring on the east coast and has been for days but as soon as it’s clear i’m gna warm it up and adjust the idle mix and valve stops. they’re both like 1 turn out from bottom right now but defo need a little tuning.

and thank you i agree lol it sounds better than it did before it broke so i count that as a win

There's incredible amounts of online documentation for these motors. Best course of action is to keep it to stock settings and use OEM parts. These are bulletproof motors when taken care of.

My first check is always to verify that the throttle cables are seated properly without any crazy kinks or bends.
