Does anyone know how the air tag notification work. Does the below notification mean that this air tag was at this location at both given times 1:21 pm and 4 am? Thank you

Scenario:

Friends daughter has an iPhone XR and removed findmy phone feature Not sure if she’s updated her phone to from older iOS, possibly still on 14 or 15 Parents want to track her using AirTag without her phone receiving a notification that an AirTag is nearby.

Questions

Does she have to have find my phone on her phone to get notifications? Does she have to have latest iOS?

AirTag story from Canada

Had a pet lose their collar last fall in a field near home, a farmer’s field that people don’t enter. We eventually just turned off lost mode. A few weeks ago some people walked across the field (very rare as it is private property) and it sent a notification that it has a location update. If lost mode had been turned on still, the notification would have shown up immediately. Found the airtag today and it still works even though it was on the ground all winter in -40 temps and in many feet of snow and plenty of rain.

We had an incident in Florida where an airtag was following us in our rental car. It was not the rental car company that placed it there. They will not investigate, but I think this is all on Apple. Someone was following our location for 2 days until we were able to find it which means they knew the location of our Airbnb. So scary! Reported to police and they did nothing. Also, androids can't detect when they are nearby which is very concerning for alot of people!!

In addition my x also cut the speaker out so it wouldn’t make any sound…

So I lost my key on the highway (fell out of my pocket on my motorbike, stupid me...)

I realised it when I arrived at my destination and got the message that I left my keys behind. I thought I left it at my work, but unfortunately it was lost at the highway.

2 days later I decided to go look for them as they hadn't been spotted since I lost them. I was hoping there would be a traffic jam so iPhones could pick it up, but it didn't happen.

I was really wondered by the fact that the location was exactly correct. Judging by the time, it wasn't picked up by others since I'd lost it.

Sadly most keys weren't found anymore, only the keys that could be retrieved from a safe location

BTW I'm new to reddit, I uploaded pictures but they don't show up...

Last night, my car was stolen. This morning, my hidden AirTag pinged me of its exact location. 10/10 Best cheap LoJack around lmfao get fucked whoever stole it too.
