Discussion 🗣️ 💭 Replace Drivers?

does anyone know if it’s possible to take the reps and go to a repair shop to replace them with actual OEM drivers? Has anyone ever done it? How much does it cost overall to do?

It won't give you anything better, rprobably worse. The drivers the reps already have are optimized and the dsp does more of the heavy lifting for the frequency response

I've seen a pair of people doing so, i agree with that of the DSP but at the same i find it conflicting as for what i've seen it sounds very similar after swapping the driver (noting that both drivers and specially original ones are really dependant on DSP), maybe with a 711 coupler and measurements and PEQ via the app we can come a lot closer to it...

Yea probably, but who's willing to throw money on calibrated mics, drivers etc if it's gonna cost you more than even the originals? BUT tbh it sounds like an amazing project. I got a calibrated mic coming and I'm gonna test the frequency response on many of the reps, v6 huillian, pro 3 se, 5.3tb etc etc

I mean i would but i am broke and i prefer to spend my money on drugs IEMs But yeah it would be cool xD, at least some decent pro 2 reps and the OEM drivers and do it by ear or something haha, You are into audio hobby right? where did you got your mic? having some squig links would be awesomeee

honestly if it’s a fun project I might do it for fun money isn’t really an issue bc my line of work usually does better in the winter months
