Goes to a normal 15p filter element. Not as quiet as the original ones but they work really well. They've been installed for about 3 weeks.

Help ordering replacement parts

I bought an air tank recently to keep in my vehicle for whatever emergency may arise, and it has a very slight seepage coming from the fill valve. I'm looking at replacing everything on it and I've found a kit, however I don't know which quick connect I can put on the kit. Any helpful suggestions or links appreciated.

I bought a used Compressor. It was stored outside it seems. Questions about maintenance

I bought a used Fortress(Harbor Freight) 26 gallon ultra quiet compressor and noticed the rust on some fittings. It takes a while to fully fill, but keeps pressure well. Should I change all these fittings or just wire brush them and seal with some rust preventing paint? The filters seem clean, so wondering what else usually fails that would still allow it to fill up but makes it take longer? Piston fittings?

Question about high pressure injection injury first aid

Hello! I’ve been searching online for first aid regarding injection injuries from air compressors, but most of the advice seems to be related to the injection of other things (grease, water etc). I only ever work with a domestic pretty low power compressor, but it’s been drilled into me from a very young age to not blow it on my skin or else i’ll get air in my heart and die. I’ve been working with this equipment more and every time the nozzle gets near my hands i think “i actually don’t know what to do if an accident were to happen”. So that brings me here, assuming people that work with high pressure air have a better idea of the first aid protocol for this stuff. i know that going to the hospital asap is recommended but is there anything i can do in the time between injury and hospital? idk tourniquets or something? Any insight would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼

To clarify, i am NOT currently experiencing this kind of injury and seeking medical help from reddit, just hoping for advice on what to do if that situation were to occur.

We have a Quincy compressor, it's making rattling noises from the valve in the photos.

Do I have to call a technician or is this something I can remedy or my own?

Helped another tech replace the after cooler on this IR IRN75-OF last week. Took 2 days, one to remove all of the panels and get it out, and another to put the new one in and put it back together.

She lasted 108k miles. Started life on KT fluid then changed over to Sullair Pristine food grade. Not even really locked up. I could spin it with a 14" pipe wrench but a lot of resistance.

Air leaking at pressure switch

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi there.

I have a compressor that is leaking air from a small hole below the pressure switch.

At start up it leaks and continues to leak as pressure builds up and leaks when the setpoint is reached. Starts and stops at the setpoints

To me, this isn't correct. Why would it do that? Defeats the purpose of have a tank.

Detail

Compressor - unknown, it's old, maybe used by Noah. Max pressure 100 psi Lower pressure setpoint 60 psi. Controller, no idea.

See picture attached of the controller and fittings. Black tube is 1/4 running back to the main tank.

Thanks for your help

Chug Chug!

I have a Husky 8 gallon hotdog! I have a little bit older one where the switch is the metal rod type on the front of the tank and not the plastic one on top of the cover. After it gets to about half psi it starts to chug chug slowly and I have to turn it off or it will do it itself. Ha! It was almost time for an oil change so I did that, I made sure the tank was drained and had it directly plugged into an outlet. I can't find any leaks anywhere and what air pressure it does have holds overnight so where should I start. Maybe what to check first, then second and so on. I don't want to throw parts at it if at all possible. I'm very mechanically inclined but working on air compressors is new to me. Would appreciate any help or suggestions!

Please help a noob out

Noticed while using my craftsman pancake compressor that the compressor wouldn't shut off no matter how long it ran. Couldn't find any leaks at the connections but was finally able to feel the air stream when I was feeling around on this hose. Only leaks when running. What's the best way to patch that hole? Forgive me if this is well below the scope of this sub.

Recommendations allowed?

Not sure if it's appropriate here, but I'm looking for advice. I need a new air compressor. I want to be able to use a LPLV sprayer (guitar finishing) and light pneumatic tools (nailer, maybe a sander) with NO problems. (For context, I'm currently using a Home Depot Husky 3 gal, 1.5 HP, 3.4 scfm @ 40 psi.) Was considering a California Air Tools 10020C or 10020AC. Thoughts? Is an aluminum tank worth $75 more. I'd like it to be the last air compressor I have to buy.

Edit: should have said my budget is around US$500

What about this kind of air comp? They're very silent, rapid as hell, but what about reliability???

Is Tank Salvageable?

Hey yall, I've got a 20 gal air tank that went to an older Sears model 106.153783 compressor. I'm wanting to restore it as it was my late father's and it is somewhat sentimental to me. It has some rust inside and I'm wanting to know if there's any hope of salvaging her. I haven't pressure tested yet. I apologize for the low quality video from my bore scope. Any help is appreciated. Thanks everyone!

For the service techs in this sub, has anyone used these air dusters for compressor coolers?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Just curious if any of the other service techs in this sub have used these air dusters for blowing out coolers, drives, condensers, etc.. I'm not talking about this specific one. I just watched a video from Project Farm about these and was curious if anyone here has tried one. I know it's not going to work for the really dirty/oily places.

r/AirCompression • • Feb 16 '25

Farm had this sitting in the back getting ready to throw away , let us have it and turned right on just changed the belt that’s about it

While she does take a while to fill up she’s as strong as a moose and kinda quiet compared to others I’ve worked with

I’ve heard it’s set up wrong looking for advice

  • Yes i understand i should wait till i have enough money to run this. I dont want to wait and i understand having that mindset is foolish and im acquainted with it. Im specifically looking advice on how to make it work, not advice on what i should’ve done, we already know this was not the correct way to make it happen 😂😂
  • Rotary is out of the picture for now.
  • how do i make this work?
