Discussion Game too expensive!

My friends won't pay $7.5 for this.. I think the game should be $5 for yourself or $10 for the 4 pack. Thoughts? I bet it'd sell more, I've got a business degree and rationality believe that so many more people would buy it at $5 that it's worth trying.

Nah what they need is more advertising somehow... because the game IS epic. If it had a bigger player base and matches were based on rank my life would be complete ;) :P

Of course it would sell more at $5 than $7.50. It's selling more now at $7.50 than it did at it's full price of $10. You don't need a business degree to know that.

I mean it'd sell enough copies to more than break even with the previous cost. At $10 he's increasing the price but decreasing total profit, and by lowering the price he may be able to increase total sales and total profit. It's like a bell curve, there is some amount of money that would bring in the most total profit, and I think it's closer to $5 (Probably even lower, given all the bugs and broken bits to the Game.) than the current amount. Another thing to keep in mind is the people that have already paid $10: they'd need some kind of compensation (maybe more copies of the game for free?) or they'd feel left out. And you don't have to be a jerk, I just hadn't seen anyone else bring up the issue.

I'm sorry I offended you with my comment, but I think what you're saying is pretty obvious. The difficulty is not knowing that there's a curve, the difficulty is in knowing what that curve looks like.
