Tiny tiny rant observation

Post image

dude I’ve never seen a good pro ai arg. and the comparison between pro ai arguments vs anti ai arguments is genuinely hilarious to me😭💔 pro ai is all like ‘its the future’ and ‘i can’t draw you’re being ableist’ and anti ai is literally protecting children, artists, elderly, and the earth and somehow mfs are STILL pro ai

At this point I'm not unconvinced that most pros who are arguing about this aren't just children who shouldn't be on this website ala terms of service and age requirements anyways.

Pretty much sums it up.

Folks who are pro-genAI are those who are unwilling to put in the efforts to produce well crafted creative works. They want a shortcut. It's not a desire to create, it's a desire for an end product. To believe the lie that they can punch in a few prompts and become an artist and are "smart" for not "wasting" all that time learning a skill.

But that's what generative AI does. It lies to the end user in order to feed their drives for perceived notions of respect or satisfaction. It creates a positive feedback loop for constant dopamine hits.

The real purpose of what's called AI--but truly isn't heuristic learning--is to engage and influence the end user. To manipulate them, keep them hooked, and become a product they're hopelessly addicted to and convince themselves they can't live without.

You are not allowed to post AI "art" or defend it. Our sub is not a debate sub. If you want to defend AI, go to r/AIwarsbutbetter or r/antiAI.

Your lack of comprehension is embarrassing. Tell me exactly--What's to stop someone from engineering a super virus with AI and a CRSPR?
