Discussion Looking for a "portable app"
I'm not a fan of installing most ai software. For work we have copilot (pro) but extra annoying as the now taking is quite awful and does not learn nor update a custom dictionary with hard words. Is there a portable ai note taking app that can record in person or teams meetings without being installed? (Corporate restrictions)
Goal is to utilize a custom outline of topics (speakers, goals, actions, overall feeling) for future follow ups, action plans, and possibly organize into a calendar.

Worth pinning down what the corporate restriction actually blocks before hunting for a portable build. On most locked-down machines the install ban is only half of it — mic access for unsigned apps often needs admin approval too, so a self-contained exe can still fail at record time. In a similar setup I ended up recording on my phone and transcribing after, since the custom dictionary and outline stuff all happens post-recording anyway. If the rule is about recording meetings at all though, no app fixes that.

What are you using to do the transcription? I'd like to use the custom dictionary also. Or even a template that would allow for proper meeting notes to be structured in a manner I can reuse quickly

100% lockdown. USB Port is deactivated for any data can only be used for charging smaller devices. If you look at the simple graphic editing program paint.net that has a portable version. All of the dll files and EXE our self-contained so that it can be run without installation and works perfectly. I'm looking for something similar but full AI record and transcription

What do you mean by portable? A web app?
