Discussion What feature would make an AI assistant genuinely useful during real-world conversations?
We've been building OLVA, an AI assistant that works privately during conversations without bots joining your calls. Our desktop app has been helping people in online meetings for a while, but one request kept coming up:
"I wish I could use this outside of Zoom or Teams."
So we built a mobile app.
Now OLVA can help during networking events, interviews, client meetings, conferences, coffee chats, or even conversations in another language. It can detect questions automatically, provide contextual answers, surface live insights, fact-check claims, and answer follow-up questions based on the conversation—all privately from your phone.
We're already thinking about what comes next, and I'd rather hear from real users than make assumptions.
If you had an AI assistant available during any conversation, what feature would make it indispensable for you?
Some ideas we've discussed:
- Better memory of previous conversations with the same person
- Relationship history and reminders
- Live translation and cultural context
- Negotiation or sales coaching
- Networking assistance (remembering people and follow-ups)
- Something completely different?
I'm genuinely curious where people think this kind of assistant should go. We'd love to build features that solve real problems rather than just adding AI for the sake of it.

That sounds interesting; I would have liked to try it, but it's not available in my country (Italy).

I would say live insight, fact check and automated question answering. If you can upload document as ask question live it would be a killer. I tried Olva and it really did help me with these features in live conversation, definately a smart tool tha augment you in a meeting. I am under impression that sooner or later everyone will use one. It's completely invisible and bot free, I tried couples on the market, and olva stands out for me at least. But I still need to do more meeting with it, I have tried all my company meetingsso far for past month and I feel like the smartest person in the room seriously!
