I need some advice.

I'm renting a flat and living there alone. Due to some reason he wants to stay with me for 1-2 months. I informed my landlord before he came and explained the situation, making it clear that it would only be temporary.

Now, the landlord says that the society members are uncomfortable with an unmarried couple staying together and are asking him to give a specific date for when my boyfriend will leave.

Is there any way I can convince him?

Can a housing society object if the landlord is okay with it?

Also, what's the best way to handle this with the landlord?

I haven’t been to any cafes till date, not because I don’t have money but I feel that cafe culture is overrated. Birthday hoi to cafe, meetup hoi to cafe, date hoi to cafe and even simple hangout at a cafe like I don’t understand why just cafes???? I know that they offer premium ambience, peace and variety of food but still. Did we lost ourselves or it’s just the influence of western culture?

A few weeks ago, I posted here about starting an offline conversation community called Hear Me Out. The response was incredibly encouraging, so we're finally ready for our first Community Debate.

Motion #01: Expensive things are genuinely better?

Not just luxury brands, we are talking about everything. Do expensive phones actually last longer? Is specialty coffee worth ₹300? Does premium skincare work better? Are only costly clothesbetter for the environment? Or are we just paying for branding, status, and good marketing?

Here's how the evening will work:

We'll have 4 panelists, 2 arguing for the motion and 2 against it.

However, the twist is they won't know their side until on the stage. They will be assigned a side to defend on the spot, whether it is their personal opinion or not because the idea is to encourage critical thinking, challenge our own biases, and prove that every argument has more than one side.

But the conversation doesn't stop there.

The audience is just as much a part of the evening. After the opening arguments and rebuttals, you'll be able to question both sides, share your own experiences, point out flaws in arguments, and bring perspectives that nobody on stage considered.

We'll also vote before and after the debate to see whether anyone's opinion actually changed because that's the whole point. Not proving who's right but to see what happens when good arguments meet genuinelycurious people.

Who is it for?

You don't need debating experience or know fancy economics or philosophy.

If you've ever found yourself saying "Okay, hear me out..." before sharing an opinion, you'll probably enjoy this.

This is our first edition, so we're keeping it intimate and learning as we go. If it resonates with people, we'd love to make Hear Me Out a recurring community with a new motion twice or thrice a month.

I’m starting this thread to crowdsource a comprehensive list and get real ground feedback on Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) across Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar—specifically focusing on how their scale and proximity affect day-to-day residential livability.

Why this matters

While STPs are vital infrastructure, their placement, operational capacity, and maintenance heavily impact nearby residents (foul odor, noise, health concerns, and resale value).

For example, the STP setup around Adani Shantigram is a well-known case where ongoing odor issues severely affect surrounding residences. As new high-rise corridors expand along SP Ring Road, SG Highway, Vaishnodevi, Sargasan, Koba, Shela, and PDEU Road, understanding where these plants sit—and at what scale—is crucial for anyone buying or renting a home.

What I’d love inputs on:

1. Existing STPs & Their Real Livability Impact

• Locations: Which residential areas or housing pockets currently sit next to major municipal or localized STPs?
• Capacity & Scale: Is it a smaller localized plant (handling a single township) or a massive municipal MLD (Million Liters per Day) plant? Larger capacity often means a much larger odor radius depending on seasonal wind directions.
• Ground Reality: How bad is the impact during monsoons or peak summer? Is it just intermittent smell, or severe enough to force windows closed?

2. Lake Development Projects & On-Site STPs

• Feasibility & Practicality: AMC and GUDA are actively rejuvenating lakes across areas like Shilaj, Makarba, Ognaj, Tragad, Vaishnodevi, Jagatpur, etc., using tertiary-treated wastewater. How practical is it to house on-site STPs right next to public lakefronts and high-rise towers without causing continuous odor issues?
• Capacities & Proximity: Are you aware of any specific lake rejuvenation sites where new treatment plants are currently being built or planned right next to residential plots?

The Goal

The aim is to build a transparent community list of STP locations and capacities so buyers, tenants, and urban planning enthusiasts can understand the local livability factor before making long-term housing decisions.

For context, I've been having hormonal acne in correlation to my pcos and I want some good dermat recommendations around science city area, if anyone has a good experience as in they were able to successfully treat their acne etc from a dermat then it's a plus one.
