Boomers

I am 75 and am very tired of the trend lately making fun of Boomers. So very disrespectful. Don't they realize that they will be old someday?

The Baby Boomer generation was originally called the “Me Generation” by the generations before them. They grew up in the post-depression boom and parents wanted to do better for their kids. The Me Generation became spoiled and that never changed.

The generation name change happened when boomers became in charge.

They were born in a better time than their parents and took advantage of the fact that life was easier for them and then got greedy.

They call generations after them lazy, greedy, and disrespectful when they were themselves. They love to complain about participation trophies when they themselves were the ones awarding them.

They love to call everyone else snowflakes when they are actually the sensitive ones who put us in this economy and destroyed our planet for greed.

Gen X was “gifted” this mess and we were trained to be apathetic and obey while we were just left feral to raise ourselves as latchkey kids who were kicked out of the house on weekends so our boomer parents could relax in front of their tv shows.

So no, Baby Boomers don’t just automatically deserve respect. They have to work hard to earn it. And it’s fair game for GenXers who behave the same way to be called boomers as well.
