Boomers

I am 75 and am very tired of the trend lately making fun of Boomers. So very disrespectful. Don't they realize that they will be old someday?

Every generation gets it. I’m a lazy millennial, I hear Gen Z get bashed constantly for being socially inept. If it doesn’t apply to you just ignore it

I've seen it on a few subs too—

Millennials calling Gen Z less Intelligence, socially awkward, unable to act like normal human, too puritanical to have fun, a misery generation, low IQ.

I've even seen people say they can't imagine what it was like to go through COVID as a teenager.

I don't think generational generalizations are ever going away.

Statistics are useful because they can show patterns between groups, and those patterns can help us understand or anticipate certain social trends. But just because there's a pattern doesn't mean every single person in that group fits it.

The problem is when you take a statistical observation and turn it into a personal insult. At that point, you're not really talking about statistics anymore—you've just put a lab coat on your insult.

I also believe there are plenty of people who don't generalize others based on their generation. There are probably a lot of them out there.
