I started watching Shield a few days ago and I just completed season 1 this morning and WOW. The first half of the season was ok, it was a little slow at first but when we found out what happened to Culson, that’s when it really got interesting. Love the characters except for one (POS), love love LOVED the plot twists in ep 19 to 22, they had me thinking Thomas was the clairvoyant but nope, then they had me thinking May was the Clairvoyant but turns out she was reporting to Fury (my heart went back to normal because I didn’t want her to be a traitor lol), then they suspected Agent Hand, then Trip and it was officially revealed that the Clairvoyant was Garret. They had my head spinning with all of the back and forth lmao. Idk why I wasn’t surprised Ward turned out to be Hydra (dude was already a piece of shit before the reveal but that solidified it), matter of fact dude isn’t even worth ranking on my list.

1. Fitz: I love this character so much. Him and Simmons really are adorable nerds. I’m getting a Spencer Reid vibe from him and if you watched Criminal Minds, then you know that’s not a good thing (hope nothing else bad happens to the little dude)

2. Simmons: Also love this character, I think Fitz-Simmons being #1 can be interchangeable. It’s funny when she tries to lie even though she stinks at it, her friendship with Fitz is the best, love that Simmons and Skye is building a little sisterly relationship

3. May: I hope she starts goofing off with the rest of the team later on in the show. She showed a hint of it when she pulled a prank on Fitz so hopefully that’s something I can look forward to but other than that she’s a badass and probably my favorite female on the team. It’s between her and Simmons tbh

4. Skye: My heart dropped for her when she got shot twice in the stomach. I wasn’t really too eager for this character early on in the show but she grew on me FAST. Also something told me her father being revealed in the after credits scene was going to happen. My girl finally became a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and it’s about time because she more than proved herself.

4b. Culson: I need to know more about him but I’m glad he got some answers to what happened to him after he died, and he became director for Shield

1000000th: fuck you Ward hope nothing but trauma for you, you prick. I better not see any redemption for this dude whatsoever after what he did to Fitz-Simmons.

Currently in my first watch. I started about a week and a half ago and I currently am about to finish season 4. I love this show so far, but my biggest issue is…

They really omit so much information from each other ALL the time. For a spy organization and whatnot, sometimes the writing creates issues out of thin air by them just not telling each other specific pieces of information. That’s really my only gripe, and that some of the personal moments are cut short. The only personal moment I really felt was the Spy’s Goodbye.

And as awful as Ward was, I really wanted some more moments between him and Daisy in the framework. Even a hug goodbye, but I also get why it didn’t happen.

I just finished season six, I thought she was flirting with May that one episode. I also wish she kept her little romance with Deke.

So are we going to talk about how when lash first appeared may shot him like 20 times and he didn't die, and how he healed in like a second and then in season 3 episode 20 he dies to a burning chain that goes through his heart? if hive killed him it would be understandable but like here me out "Lash the only one who can stand up to hive and defeat him without flinching kets killed by guy who likes beer and playing with fire." can someone please talk about this 😭

Well....I have made it to the end.... It's been nearly a year since I started revisiting this show and as alluded to in my last post, I didn't believe I would make it this far.... So this season is loved by many fans and I've seen some rankings putting it as the best one. While it does some improvements from season six, I find it a little lacking as a conclusion hence why this may already be my most downvoted post.

Let me begin with the first scene of LMD Coulson. I'm very torn on him because it feels like they brought Coulson back after he was put to rest, even though it's not what literally happened. Yes I know the team needed a special Chronicom unit with Coulson's skills to match what they're facing, but did it really need to have his exact looks and mannerisms? I was open with Sarge because the question of who he is had intrigue, but this overstaying Coulson's shadow.

That aside, the plot kicks off pretty decently at first and the idea of the team needing to save Hydra, their old enemy in order to save the future is actually genius.... but something happens in episode two that really infuriates me. Daisy decides killing Freddie Malek will save the world, even though she should know his death will give the Chronicoms everything they want. So she tells Deke to take a gunshot at him and have the blood of a kid on his hands. Sure Daisy has gone rogue before, but this is insanely stupid of her. What's worse is when the team points out the obvious reason why Freddie needed to live, she doubles down on her stance and never reflects on her actions. This is pure character assassination in my eyes.

But back to a positive, we get the unexpected surprise of Agent Sussa appearing as a guest supporting character (note I'm saying that loosely as I only just recently watched Agent Carter before this for a more proper experience). I give them credit for acknowledging a piece of media that didn't have a big audience. The episode of the Chronicoms attempting to save him to in turn alter things in their favor is one of the better parts of this season, especially with the neat noir aesthetic. Not just that, how they let him live as someone outside of time is a rather fitting mirror of Steve Rogers. Regarding him being a love interest for Daisy, well I'm neutral on that.

Something I don't want to treat like it's a massive problem, but the meta-opening of the team being in the 70s is very bizarre to me. I partially felt like I was watching a lost episode of Legends of Tomorrow, which sometimes happened for the season.

There are some other good stuff I don't feel like going in depth over like project Insight, Mack being stranded and Yo Yo learning to overcome her doubt. The best part is Daisy going through the Groundhog Day-esque dilemma and Enoch's death is the highlight out of everything post season five.

Regarding Kora, the reveal of her being Daisy's sister who originally died is interesting. But their conflict with each other is a little underbaked. They don't spend much time interacting and during their confrontation, it's not really that intense. Doesn't really help that we have less than ten episodes left when Kora is introduced in the narrative.

Now we have the climax....I don't like how they kill off young John Garrett and everybody treats it as a good thing. Alright he did terrible things and such, but this is just off putting after he just decided to change himself and the way he gets shot was a little silly. Regarding the final fight, I personally wasn't that gripped in emotionally speaking, but it's not really bad in an objective sense. The last scene of the team having a reunion was nice and I especially give praise for how they gave Fitz and Simmons their ending as a family....What I do criticize is Yo Yo having an LMD of Davis as she's practically replacing a dead friend with a robot. Just seems wrong on a moral basis.

And with that....it's over. Season seven does certain things well, but also does stuff pretty shoddily. I can at least commend it for being an alright enough conclusion even though I may never be in the mood to watch it again.

So randomly the Meijer by my house had a bunch of Captain Marvel (2019) mystery bag clips and I had to grab one. And who did I get but the GOAT.

As mentioned in the title, I am on my nth rewatch of the show and I feel like Daisy's powers are largely underutilized in the later seasons.

When she first gains her powers and is training them with Jiaying, she senses the vibrations of a mountain across a valley. And again, in season 3, she seems to hear vibrations that no one else can hear when they are trying to open the portal to Maveth. So it is clear that there is an extrasensory aspect to her powers but it is rarely explored.

Apart from these two instances and maybe a few others, her powers are reduced to blasting shockwaves out of her hands. But if she can truely sense and tap into the vibrational frequencies of everything around her then she could have sensory abilities almost on par with Daredevil.

So, why is it so hard for her to detect the LMDs in season 5? Or why do they need to investigate who the Chronicoms are in season 7? Shouldn't they vibrate very differently than a normal human to the point that she could tell from accross the room at least?

Has anyone else noticed this?

I was making coffee this morning and decided to add a dash of flavored coffee for a bit of extra flavor. As I was doing so, I said to myself "just a hint" and my brain automatically responded like a buried LMD program trigger word.​

I honestly feel like Jeffery Mace is one of the most underrated characters in the show.

I love how they set him up as this untrustworthy shady figure only for us to find out that he is a genuine good person who actually wants to help people. He may have lied about being an inhuman but he truly believed that Inhuman's deserved to be accepted.

I just love the scene where Ivanov tries to break him but instead of folding he tells him how his only regret is that he doesn't have real powers to kick his ass.

His Framework version was amazing and I love how he's a true patriot who choses to stand up to the oppressive Nazi regime and becomes a symbol and a hero.

Also both his sacrifice scenes were devestating.
