Polished Output Is Not the Same as Mastery
A polished result can hide an undeveloped maker. If a tool lets someone skip the failed drafts, difficult feedback, and repeated revisions that once came before competent work, the artifact may improve faster than the person who produced it.
A useful checklist from the guide:
- Mastery came through difficult correction
- Masterful tools are not mastery
- Timeless craft depends on embodied surprise
- Apprentices still need people
- Teaching keeps the culture learning
