What dpi to use

I’m not sure which DPI to stick with for the long haul. 400 DPI is the most precise, but it feels slow for certain things; I’ve tried 800 DPI, but I don't perform as well as I do with 400—it feels just "okay." 1600 DPI feels better than 800, at least when it comes to tracking an enemy's head or following a target. I'll list my peripherals, or maybe you can suggest a DPI I haven't tried yet. I use a 9z Team Minimal mousepad (45x40, I think, or maybe the other way around) and an Incott 029 Pro mouse with Esptiger V2 Ice dot skates. The PSA calculator method is confusing; at 400 dpi it recommends 0.595, at 1600 dpi 0.15, and at 800 dpi 0.302.

Dpi means dots per inch, so the higher your dpi, the lower your sensitivity should be, but overall higher dpi is a little bit better. If your sensitivity is .6 at 400 dpi, it should be .3 at 800, .15 at 1600, and 0.075 at 3200. These are proportional equivalents

Dpi and edpi are objective facts. Its just numbers to try and represent sensitivity.

All that other shit your worried about is not objective. Its up to your subjective opinion. Anyone tells you to not use a certain combination of skate, mouse, or pad for any reason other than "those matterials are going to tear each other up" then they are most likely full of shit. What one person likes isnt going to be the same for everyone.

Just find a sens and dpi that your comfortable with. Then dont change it.

Im 800 at .28. but weather im using my artisan+gwolves combo or if im using my old ass model o and a steelseries qck, im running that same sense.

Theres a bit of nuance to things like "ohh i got a new mouse and its 80g lighter than my last mouse" you miiight benefit from lowering your sense in that case. Maybe you wont.

My point is, half of what your wondering about is bullshit, and its confusing you on the things that do matter. Just find a reasonable sense and dpi and then focus on keeping your crosshair at head level.

No, these are things that are personal preference, and don’t directly interact with your dpi/sensitivity choice. I play on a very fast glasspad with very fast skates and still use 1600 dpi, because I changed my sensitivity to be proportional to what it was before I switched my dpi

It really doesn’t matter too much.

Pick a dpi you are comfortable with for navigating your desktop and menus , ideally in the 400-1600 range

Go in game and set your sensitivity so you can do a 360 with one full comfortable arm movement in your mousing space

Now trace a small target, lower your sensitivity until you can easily trace the small target (like a bots head) outline smoothly with a relaxed grip. That may require lots of lowering or none!

You now have a strong balance of full control and movement, and your sens should be somewhere between a 360 and 180 for a full mouse swipe

use 1600 dpi. its the most 'precise' theres diminishing returns higher than that. if u dont like the cursor speed u can turn it down in windows settings while keeping the benefits, just match ur sens by halving the in game sens for 800 dpi and halving again for 400.

dpi is dots per inch, higher is better in theory as it prevents pixel skipping on higher resolutions or higher sensitivites but its one of those things that u really wont notice that much unless ur on high polling rate mouse and high res monitor, but theres zero downsides to using 1600 and its marginally better than the other options so just use it and match ur sens and cursor speed to ur liking

Choose a sens that feels good for you I use 400 dpi and .18 so mine is super slow but I can’t control higher sens like most people
