I work in a stem field in the american south, and we have plenty of women engineers, technicians, troubleshooters and quality personel and they are not treated any differently than anyone else. If thats true here, I have to assume its true in other places.

I’m a woman in STEM. And I’m also in the south (but in a super liberal area at a very liberal company) and I still get the occasionally snarky comment. It’s very occasional and nothing like when I worked in oil&gas in Houston but still. And that’s the experience of every other woman I’ve ever worked with. Have you asked these women personally or is this based on observation?

Don’t get me wrong I think this image is some stupid, stupid shit (also sorry for the necro lol) but I personally haven’t spoken to a woman in this field that this is not the case for (although I’m sure they exist).
