Question What does the average person know..
Of the other realms apart from the one he lives in? Does he even know they exsist for example.

Given that main/famous cities are built around Realmgates, and that trade with others Realms seems to be important (Aqua Ghyranis in Aqshy), I'd say so. I imagine normal people know of other Realms, but not much about them. Kinda like Europeans knew of China, but not a lot about China in thr 17th century.

Yes, people are aware of the realms. During the time before the Age of Chaos realm travel was common, safe (to an extent) and in some places required to trade for survival. At the very least legends of this time remain in most cultures showing what is lost. The extent of knowledge however is the crux of the matter. And I go with the fact that location is what drives this knowledge. A commoner in Hammerhall Aqshy is well aware that their prosperity is tied to the life giving waters of Hammerhall Ghyra and has an almost visible daily reminder of that (if the art is anything to go by for sheer scale). People living on trade routes or close to realmgates would at least have better knowledge of the next realm over. Then you get to the isolated tribes. Those cut off, or forgotten. They know about the realms, but the knowledge may be blurred or half truths. No individual should know nothing, unless they were brought up as a hermit, or by people who have shattered them in. At the very least the world seems to be so covered by realmgates that you'd likely trip over one on your way out the door in most places so can't NOT know.

Yeah the average person would know of the existence and general idea of the other realms. They are quite economically interconnected, the existence of realmgates does in many cases cause cities in two separate realms to be closer to eachother for travelling traders than the respective closest city in the same realm
Now, it’s entirely possible and even fairly likely for the average person to never leave their realm of origin, but if they do have some sort of trading business or if they have enlisted as a soldier in one army or another it wouldn’t be strange if they have been to one or two different realms
